How it works

Plan once. Protect it. Let your family follow it.

Four steps, done at home and at your own pace. You can stop after any of them and come back whenever you're ready.

1

Learn your options

Most people only ever hear "burial or cremation." There is much more you're free to choose, and the planner explains each choice in plain words before you make it.

  • Burial, cremation, green burial, and the options in between
  • What your faith asks, if it asks anything
  • What you don't have to buy
2

Make your plan

Answer a few questions, or start from a sample plan. Skip anything you're not sure about. Your plan saves only when you choose.

  • The main decisions take about ten minutes
  • Add the details whenever you like: music, readings, who speaks
  • Plan for yourself, or with someone you love
3

Share it

A plan only helps if the right people can find it. Choose who can read it now, who gets it when it's needed, and the person you want in charge.

  • Print it, or share a private link
  • Nothing reaches the second group until it's needed
  • The person in charge can choose any funeral home, and start the claim
4

Protect your wishes

When you ask, we show what your plan would cost where you live. You can protect it with final expense coverage through Ethos, with a short online application.

  • The cost appears only when you ask, or at the end
  • Coverage sized to your own plan
  • Paid to someone you trust, who carries out your wishes

What the planner asks

Four short parts. Each one starts with what matters most and leaves the details for later.

What matters most

Your faith, the feeling of the day, and anything family should know above all.

Arrangements

Burial or cremation, and the choices that come with each.

The service

How people will gather, and the details that make it personal.

What comes next

The story, the people, and how your family will remember.

When the time comes

Your family opens one page. It tells them what you wanted, who's in charge, and what to do first. They take the plan to any funeral home, and the coverage pays the person you named, or a funeral home you assigned.

What your family will do first

Is it really free?

Yes. The planner and your plan are always free, whether you protect it or not.

Can I change my plan later?

Any time. Wishes change, and your plan should too.

What if I move?

Your plan and your coverage go with you. Any funeral home can carry out your wishes.

Ready when you are.
